Orion Equine Therapies Welcomes You!

Central Texas Equine Massage,

Bodywork and Wellness Services

Equine Bodywork can help as a preventive care, pre- and post-event treatment and help in recovery in conjunction with or after veterinary/ chiropractic/ostheopathic care.
WHEN COULD YOUR HORSE BENEFIT FROM EQUINE BODYWORK?
Horses can benefit from bodywork for a variety of reasons, including:
1. **Muscle Tightness and Tension**: Bodywork can help release tight muscles and relieve tension caused by work, stress, or injury.
2. **Improved Circulation**: Techniques like massage enhance blood flow, promoting better oxygen delivery to muscles and aiding recovery.
3. **Injury Recovery**: Horses recovering from injuries may benefit from bodywork to alleviate pain, restore range of motion, and promote healing.
4. **Performance Enhancement**: Regular bodywork can improve flexibility and movement efficiency, potentially enhancing a horse’s overall performance.
5. **Postural Alignment**: Bodywork can help address imbalances and promote better posture, which is critical for athletic performance and overall health.
6. **Stress Relief**: Bodywork techniques can help reduce stress and anxiety in horses, promoting relaxation and improving their overall well-being.
7. **Joint Mobilization**: Techniques like  tensegrity adjustments can aid in maintaining joint health and mobility.
8. **Behavioral Issues**: Sometimes, physical discomfort can manifest as behavioral problems. Bodywork may help identify and address underlying physical issues.
9. **Prevention**: Regular bodywork can be a proactive approach to prevent injuries and maintain optimal physical condition, especially in working or competitive horses.
10. **Rehabilitation**: Bodywork is often incorporated into rehabilitation programs for horses recovering from surgery or other significant health issues.
By addressing physical issues, bodywork can contribute to a horse's overall well-being and performance, ensuring they remain healthy and sound throughout their working life.

New:

In addition to supporting your horse’s comfort, recovery, and performance, I also offer bodywork and Reiki for riders. Rider balance, posture, energy, and muscle tension directly influence the horse’s movement and overall well-being. Through techniques such as myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy, Reiki energy work, and other holistic modalities, I help riders release tension, improve body awareness, restore balance, and develop better alignment in the saddle—creating a more harmonious connection between horse and rider.

ORION EQUINE THERAPIES

Client Policies

Effective September 2026

Orion Equine Therapies is committed to providing professional, individualized services for each horse and client. Because appointments require reserved time, preparation, and, in many cases, travel, the following policies help ensure fair and consistent scheduling for all clients.

1. PAYMENT POLICY

Payment is due at the time of service unless other payment arrangements have been agreed upon in advance.

Accepted payment methods may include the payment methods identified by Orion Equine Therapies at the time of booking.

For certain appointments, packages, specialty services, or travel appointments, a deposit or full payment may be required to reserve the appointment.

Any required deposit or prepayment will be disclosed before the appointment is confirmed.

Outstanding balances must be paid before additional services are scheduled unless otherwise approved by Orion Equine Therapies.

2. CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING POLICY

Appointments are reserved specifically for each client and horse.

Cancelations within 24 hours:

Appointments canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time may be canceled or rescheduled without a cancellation fee.

Less than 24 hours notice:

Cancellations or rescheduling requests received less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may be subject to a fee of 50% of the scheduled service fee.

Same day cancelation:

A cancellation made on the day of the appointment may be subject to a fee of 100% of the scheduled service fee.

No-show:

Failure to appear for a scheduled appointment, failure to provide reasonable access to the horse, or failure to communicate with Orion Equine Therapies regarding the appointment may be considered a no-show.

No-shows may be charged 100% of the scheduled service fee.

Repeated cancellations or no-shows may require payment in advance for future appointments.

Orion Equine Therapies may use reasonable discretion when determining whether a cancellation fee should be waived or reduced.

3. REFUND POLICY

Payments for services that have already been provided are generally non-refundable.

If a client has paid in advance and cancels within the applicable cancellation period, any eligible refund will be determined according to the cancellation policy and the circumstances of the cancellation.

Deposits may be applied toward a rescheduled appointment when permitted by Orion Equine Therapies.

Refunds, when approved, will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or limit any refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

4. LATE ARRIVAL POLICY

Clients are expected to be present and ready for the scheduled appointment.

If the client is more than 15 minutes late, Orion Equine Therapies may shorten the appointment so that subsequent appointments can remain on schedule.

If the delay is significant enough that the appointment cannot reasonably be completed, the appointment may be treated as a cancellation or no-show and the applicable fee may apply.

Orion Equine Therapies will make reasonable efforts to accommodate delays when scheduling permits.

5. WEATHER & UNSAFE CONDITIONS

The safety of the horse, client, practitioner, and anyone involved in the appointment is the priority.

Orion Equine Therapies may postpone or reschedule an appointment when conditions create an unreasonable safety concern, including:

  • Severe thunderstorms

  • Lightning

  • Flooding

  • Unsafe road conditions

  • Extreme weather

  • Unsafe facility conditions

  • Other circumstances that make travel or treatment unsafe

When Orion Equine Therapies initiates a weather-related cancellation or rescheduling, no cancellation fee will be charged to the client.

The appointment may be rescheduled for the next mutually available date.

6. HORSE ILLNESS, INJURY & TREATMENT SUITABILITY

Clients should notify Orion Equine Therapies as soon as possible if the horse becomes ill, injured, unusually stressed, or otherwise unsuitable for the scheduled service.

Orion Equine Therapies reserves the right to postpone or decline treatment when, in the practitioner's professional judgment, treatment would be inappropriate or unsafe.

Examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Acute illness

  • Fever

  • Significant injury

  • Suspected contagious illness

  • Severe lameness

  • Unsafe or unpredictable behavior

  • Conditions requiring immediate veterinary attention

When possible, the appointment may be rescheduled without a cancellation fee when the circumstances reasonably justify the change.

Orion Equine Therapies does not replace veterinary diagnosis or emergency veterinary care. Clients should seek appropriate veterinary care when a horse has an acute medical concern.

7. HORSE & FACILITY ACCESS REQUIREMENTS

The horse must be reasonably accessible and safely available at the scheduled appointment time.

Clients are responsible for providing:

  • Safe access to the horse

  • A reasonably safe treatment area

  • Adequate space for the practitioner to work

  • A horse that can be safely handled for the scheduled service

  • Any necessary assistance with handling or restraint when appropriate

If safe access to the horse or treatment area cannot be provided, Orion Equine Therapies may discontinue or reschedule the appointment.

8. TRAVEL APPOINTMENTS & TRAVEL FEES

Appointments requiring travel may be subject to a travel fee.

Applicable travel fees will be communicated before the appointment is confirmed whenever practical.

If an appointment is canceled after Orion Equine Therapies has begun traveling to the location, the client may be responsible for the applicable cancellation fee and reasonable travel expenses that have already been incurred, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Group or multi-horse appointments may have different travel arrangements or fees.

9. EMERGENCIES

Orion Equine Therapies recognizes that genuine emergencies can occur.

Emergency situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Orion Equine Therapies may waive or reduce a cancellation fee when circumstances reasonably warrant an exception.

Clients should notify Orion Equine Therapies as soon as reasonably possible when an emergency prevents attendance.

10. COMMUNICATION REGARDING CANCELLATIONS

Clients should contact Orion Equine Therapies as soon as possible when they need to cancel or reschedule.

Cancellation is considered received when Orion Equine Therapies receives the client's notice through an approved contact method.

Clients should not rely solely on social media messaging to communicate a time-sensitive cancellation unless Orion Equine Therapies has specifically authorized that method.

11. APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION

Scheduling an appointment constitutes the client's acknowledgment that they have had an opportunity to review the applicable Orion Equine Therapies policies.

By booking an appointment, the client agrees to comply with the payment, cancellation, rescheduling, and other applicable policies in effect at the time of booking.

12. POLICY CHANGES

Orion Equine Therapies reserves the right to modify these policies when necessary.

The policies applicable to an appointment will generally be those in effect when the appointment is booked, unless otherwise required by law or agreed upon in writing.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

These policies are intended to establish reasonable business procedures and are not a substitute for legal advice.

Nothing in these policies is intended to waive, limit, or exclude rights or protections that cannot legally be waived under applicable Texas or federal law.
